Medic

Our recommendation for a medic is to carry first-aid equipment in one organised, quickly opened pouch, rather than scattered across other kit.

A first-aid pouch with internal partitions keeps dressings, a tourniquet and other individual first-aid items separate and within reach, so the right item can be found by feel even under pressure. The flap-closed pouch mounts on the MOLLE rows of a plate carrier or combat belt, and the front carries a hook-and-loop panel for an identification patch.

The rest of the carrying platform - a plate carrier and combat belt - stays the same base kit as any other role, with a drop pouch added where needed for other small items. Volume and placement are chosen so the first-aid pouch stays in the same spot every time and can be reached with the other hand.

A role selection is our recommendation about equipment commonly used in that job. It is not a list of equipment issued, approved or required by any defence force, unit or authority.
